NZ newspaper runs photo of dead ‘Jackass’ star instead of slain IDF soldier

The New Zealand Herald ran an article about slain IDF soldier Guy Boyland, killed in Gaza on Friday, using a picture of ‘Jackass’ star Ryan Dunn, who died in a car crash three years ago, Mashable first reports.

Staff Sergeant Boyland, 21, was killed July 25, 2014 trying to raze tunnels in Gaza. He was laid to rest at his home Sunday on Kibbutz Ginosar in the Galilee.

Boyland was born in Taupo, a small lakeside community in New Zealand’s north island.

The paper issued an apology, after saying it had mistakenly retrieved the photo from Boyland’s Facebook page.
