Palestinian man arrested on suspicion of stabbing, lightly wounding teen in the West Bank

Police say they arrested a Palestinian man earlier today on suspicion of stabbing and lightly injuring a 17-year-old in the West Bank.

Officers nabbed the suspect after reaching the site of the stabbing in Mishor Adumim, an industrial area east of Jerusalem. The alleged assailant is from al-Eizariya, a West Bank Palestinian village just a few miles away from the scene.

The circumstances of the incident remain unclear and the investigation is ongoing, police say.

According to the ultra-Orthodox Kikar HaShabbat news site, the teen is a shepherd who had been herding his flock in the area when attacked by three Palestinians.

A police spokesperson confirms that searches are ongoing for additional suspects.
