New York City’s annual Israel Day Parade is underway on Fifth Avenue.
New York City and state leaders speak at the beginning of the annual Israel parade, except for Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
Governor Kathy Hochul, Sen. Chuck Schumer, Attorney General Letitia James, City Council Speaker Julie Menin, State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli, and City Comptroller Mark Levine address the crowd.
“Today we march in defiance and also to stand up for the values that defined New York State since its very beginning,” Hochul says.
“Today and every day, we must be proud, we must be proud, we must come together to promote our values, most cherished among them the right of Israel to exist as our Jewish homeland,” says Eric Goldstein, head of the UJA-Federation of New York.
