A prominent Israeli concert organizer denied on Monday night that the American band whose concert was targeted in Friday’s terror attacks in Paris has reaffirmed its intention to perform in Israel this summer.
The Eagles of Death Metal were on stage Friday night at Paris’s Bataclan theater when Islamic State terrorists marched in and opened fire on the crowd, killing 89 fans before eventually being stopped by a police raid.
The Ynet news website reported on Monday that the band had announced plans to return to the Holy Land, and that the show’s Israeli producer Shuki Weiss was told the band would return in summer 2016.
But Weiss denied the “unconfirmed rumors” on Monday night, which he said were “simply not true.
“Our thoughts are with the band, as we hope for better days,” Weiss wrote on Facebook.

The band played in Israel last July, despite attempts by anti-Israel activists to pressure it to avoid the Jewish state.
