The children believed held hostage in Gaza, many of whom could be freed in Hamas deal

The hostage deal that was approved by the cabinet in the early hours of Wednesday is to include many, though not all, of the children who have been held captive by Hamas and other terror groups in Gaza since October 7.

Some 50 Israeli hostages are to be freed in groups of about 12 per day, over four days, with possible further subsequent releases. The 50 are to be children, mothers and other women.

Not all of the Israeli children in Gaza are being held by Hamas, the main Gazan party to the deal, and not all of their whereabouts are known.

The following is a list of children believed to be held hostage in Gaza:

• Avigayil Idan, 3: Kidnapped from Kibbutz Kfar Aza. Her parents Roee and Smadar were murdered, her older siblings survived.
• Ofri 10, Yuval 9, and Uriya Brodetz, 5: Kidnapped from Kibbutz Kfar Aza, with mom Hagar. Neighbor Avigayil was abducted with them.
• Ariel Bibas, 4 and Kfir Bibas, 10 months: Kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz along with their parents, Yarden and Shiri.

• Emily Hand, 9: Kidnapped from Kibbutz Be’eri. Her father initially thought she had been murdered, was later informed she was in Gaza. Update: She was released on November 25.
• Ohad Munder, 8: Kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz, with his mother and his grandparents, while his uncle Roi was murdered. Update: He, his mother and grandmother were freed on November 24.
• Hila Rotem, 12: Kidnapped from Kibbutz Be’eri, with her mother, Raya. Update: Hila was released, without her mother, on November 25.

• Agam, 17, Gal, 11, and Tal, 9, Goldstein-Almog: Kidnapped from Kibbutz Kfar Aza, with their mother, Chen Almog Goldstein, while their father Nadav and sister Yam were murdered.
• Ella and Dafna Elyakim, 8 and 15: Kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz, with their father, Noam and his girlfriend, Dikla, and Dikla’s son, Tomer. The bodies of Noam, Dikla and Tomer were later recovered near the border. Mom Ma’ayan Zin has campaigned widely for their release.
•  Yagil Yaakov, 12, and Or Yaakov, 16: Kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz. Yagil, who has a severe allergy, was seen in a Palestinian Islamic Jihad propaganda video.
