2 Jewish men arrested on suspicion of assaulting Arab municipality worker in Jerusalem
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleTwo young Jewish men were arrested overnight on suspicion of assaulting an Arab worker of the Jerusalem Municipality for nationalistic reasons, the Israel Police says.
Police say in a statement that around 2 a.m., they received a report about a municipality worker who was attacked while cleaning the street in the area of Mahane Yehuda Market.
Cops arrived and after a short search arrested the two men nearby, one aged 20 from Mevo Modi’im and the other aged 18 from the Pisgat Ze’ev neighborhood.
The attacked worker didn’t require hospitalization, police say. The suspects have been taken for questioning and will be brought later today for a remand hearing.
