The Tel Aviv District Court rejects an appeal against the continued detention of three young men arrested on suspicion of assaulting an Arab woman.

The three are to remain in police custody until Sunday.

They are accused of pepper-spraying 30-year-old Hanan Abu Shehadeh while she was driving in Jaffa on Saturday with her two children and mother-in-law.

Police reportedly believe that the attack was racially motivated and planned in advance, after interrogating the suspects.

According to Hebrew reports, the suspects — whose names are barred for publication under a gag order — are so-called hilltop youth with a history of violence against Palestinians in the West Bank.
