Israel’s Ambassador to the US Michael Herzog urges the public to join an online campaign to wish Ohad Zichri — an Israeli boy who is one of the 30 children held by terrorists in Gaza — a happy birthday.
Ohad will be turning nine on Monday.
His family says Ohad “is a bright kid who loves soccer, tennis and solving the Rubik’s cube.”
Ohad was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists and brought into Gaza along with mother Keren and his grandparents.
“We send Ohad and all those who were kidnapped strength and courage. We hope and pray we will be able to celebrate with them soon. Israel will spare no effort to bring them home, safe and sound,” says a statement from the Israeli Embassy in Washington.
“Please join Ambassador Herzog in wishing Ohad a happy birthday by signing the e-card linked below or by sending an email to: KIDnappedBday@washington.mfa.gov.il,” the statement adds.
Help us report truthfully on social media
As a multimedia journalist, my job is to take the quality, fact-based journalism produced by The Times of Israel newsroom and make it accessible across every platform — from Instagram posts to podcasts to short-form videos.
This is how many, especially young people, consume news these days. But misinformation is rampant on social media. Our team at ToI produces accurate, responsible short-form reporting on Israel and the Jewish world.
If you believe in the importance of factual social media journalism, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to sustain responsible multimedia reporting.
