Jihadists said to kill, kidnap scores of villagers in central Nigeria during Friday prayers

Jihadists kidnapped and killed scores of people in an attack during Friday prayers in central Nigeria’s Niger state, a local resident and lawmaker tell AFP.

Lakurawa fighters “slaughtered some of our people” and “kidnapped many,” says Jibril Ahmad, from Dikera village, adding some were able to escape when another jihadist group, known as Mahmuda, started clashing with the Lakurawa.

The exact toll of the attacks, which also hit the village of Binzi, was unknown, he and federal representative Jafaru Mohammed say
