Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleAn 18-year-old Palestinian from Ramallah was arrested overnight while staying in Israel illegally, on suspicion of stealing a car with the intention of carrying out a ramming attack against Israeli forces at the West Bank’s Hizma checkpoint near Jerusalem, the Israel Police says.
Cops near the checkpoint noticed a vehicle approaching with no headlights and a broken windshield, suspecting it was stolen. They signaled to the driver to stop and he tried to flee.
The driver was taken for questioning, where police found out he is a supporter of the Hamas terror group who planned to harm the forces at the checkpoint, according to police.
